This is how to install a window if you have exterior trim that is easy to remove around the window. If you have aluminum or vinyl siding, or a masonry exterior the process is more complex, because you can't simply remove the trim around the outside of the window. The process of plumbing and squaring the window are the same, but usually you can only shim the window from one side.
