This can also be cause by a bad or poorly installed lever, because the lever arm will hit the top of the tank cover.

You can rent a snake at your local home improvement store if the clog is really bad. Most of the time you can remove the clog with a plunger. What that means is, the drain on the disposal is on the side of the disposal no directly under the drain like a regular sink.

Only Gas Powered water heaters have a pilot light, so if you have an electric water heater and it's not working, it's not the pilot light.
